    Hi,

I also own a D430 and I have enabled Biometrics on my own.
If your laptop has a TPM chip installed, I can tell you the software you can download for ifree from the Dell website (Its legal and free unlike what those tech support guys told you). The key is you must have the TPM chip….which does not come free.

To check go to F2 Setup, and go to the section labelled “Security” and then “TPM activation”. Activate the TPM and follow the instrcution carefully. If you manage to activate the TPM chip, then you have one, Else you don’t have one.

Feel free to email me if you need help!

    Ben
